Leonidas wurde in Chimadio bei Kilkis geboren. Als Kind von Auswanderern wuchs er im Dorf seiner Großeltern auf. Dies ermöglichte ihm in einem traditionellen Umfeld aufzuwachsen und die Tänze in ihrer authentischen Form, so wie die Menschen sie dort bei Festen tanzen, zu lernen. Seit 1994 lebt er in Deutschland und unterrichtet in mehreren Tanzgruppen. Hält Seminare im In- und Ausland und organisiert mehrmals im Jahr Tanzreisen nach Griechenland. Seit Juli 2008 ist er Mitglied im CID (International Dance Council).
